Is it weird to plan your own baby shower?

My mom would want to throw it for me I’m sure but she wouldn’t have a clue who to invite. I just need to pick the people, is it bad to EXPECT a shower and is it bad to be involved in the planning?

First of all, I must say congratulations!!! I hope everything goes well with your pregnancy!

Planning a baby shower can be really exhausting without the guidance of the expecting mother. I know that for my two baby showers, my friends planned them from far away, so they really struggled with some of the details.

One thing to keep in mind is that you may not even realize that your friends are already planning a surprise shower?? One of mine was a surprise, so it really caught me off guard! Make sure to feel out your closest friends before going ahead with any real planning.

As a matter of fact, by asking them to help you plan a shower, you kill two birds with one stone; they will have to come clean if they are already planning one!
